Some women contrast lipstick with hair color, whereas others try to match it with the shape of their lips. Most women, however, choose to blend lip makeup with their undertone. You need to determine whether you have a cool, warm, or neutral undertone to follow by example.
Here are the features of each skin tone and the lipsticks that go with them.
If your skin is prone to sunburns and looks pink, red, or blue in parts, you have a cool undertone. Turn over your wrist and compare it with someone who has a warmer skin tone than you. If you see more blue veins underneath, you have a cool undertone.
The best lipsticks for a cool undertone could be along the lines of purple, blue, and deep red.

There are several ways to determine whether you have a warm skin tone, but you have to try all of them because they don’t always work for everyone. Firstly, check if gold jewelry looks better on you than silver jewelry because that’s a hallmark of a warm undertone.
Secondly, see if the veins on the inside of your wrist appear green. Finally, notice your tanning patterns. If you tan easily under the sun, you have a warm undertone.
Copper, orange, and fiery, bold red lipsticks look best on warmer skin tones, but you can always play around with other colors.

Neutral undertones have shades of yellow and pink right under the surface of their skin, and you can tell you have one if both gold and silver jewelry looks good on you. You can also check for veins or lack thereof. If you don’t see any veins, they likely match the color of your skin, making it neutral.
All dark to light colors looks good on a neutral undertone, so you might as well look at the color of your hair or the shape of your lips to choose one at a time.
