How to Make Your Skin Look Dewy, Not Greasy

Prep the Skin

The correct way to start your makeup regimen is to indulge in a bit of skincare. For those with oily skin, it’s best to spot moisturize, i.e., leave out the center of the face, but moisturize the peripheral regions of your face with a tinted moisturizer.

As for the center of the face, you will go in with a mattifying primer. This is the region where pores tend to appear the largest and are also likelier to grease than the rest of the face. It’s best to use a brush when applying the primer to the T-zone as it ensures longevity by limiting the transfer of oil.

Continue the Use of Matte Makeup

Even when chasing the sheen, you must remain loyal to your water-based makeup. Oil-based makeup tends to make the skin greasier, hence compromising its longevity. The airbrush foundation is a water-resistant formula with buildable coverage on the skin. The spray application method ensures an even amount of product on all ends, resulting in a smooth texture. Next, for covering any imperfections under the eyes or blemishes, you can go in with a concealer.

Use a matte setting powder to lock your foundation and concealer into place. Concentrate the translucent powder in the T-Zone and other regions prone to getting oily. It absorbs oils as and when it begins to appear on the surface, which prevents the foundation from dissolving and the concealer from creasing. Using a powder brush, dust on a generous amount of matte setting powder to make your makeup last all day long.

Add Highlighter

Last but not least, go in with a highlighter in the regions where light is likely to hit your face naturally. The dark shadow being cast on these areas can make the skin appear tired; highlighting adds brightness to the canvas. Use a powder highlighter for your oily skin as a stick or liquid foundation can smudge the previously applied layer.
